Though Ajit’s been sailing on the West Coast and chartering since the early 90’s, and Lisa was introduced to sailing in Austin, TX around the same time. Harley, a lab x pointer, took up sailing shortly after Ajit acquired Pearl. His duties on board include but aren’t limited to shedding hair all over everything and making muddy paw prints.
We are first time sail boat boat owners. As such, there is an incredible amount of stuff that we didn’t know, so we decided to put this website together to capture and share some of what we’ve learned — on the off chance it will save someone else some time. Besides that, as we are beginning to discover, sailing our own boat connects us with life and our environment in ways we hadn’t imagined. We think is worth sharing.
While Pearl’s home port is Portland, OR, she is currently in South Florida, making forays into the Caribbean. She is currently inhabited full time and loved by Ajit, Lisa, and Harley.
